What is the difference between copper wire braiding and copper tape shielding for cables?

Cable shielding layer is used to resist electromagnetic interference and prevent signal leakage. The common shielding methods are tinned copper wire braiding and copper tape wrapping.

Copper wire braided shielding: 360° full coverage, soft texture, strong bending resistance, not easy to break during frequent bending, good flexibility, suitable for movable wire harness and flexible cables.

Copper tape wrapped shielding: one-way lapped wrapping, tight structure, low cost, strong anti-interference effect for fixed wiring, but poor flexibility, easy to crack and damage after long-term bending.

In terms of conductivity and shielding effect, both of them can meet the conventional shielding requirements. Flexible mobile equipment prefers copper wire braided shielding; fixed installation engineering cables mostly choose copper tape shielding to control cost.
